“It won’t be good for the Ghana Premier League if Hearts of Oak get relegated” – Stephen Manu

Former Asante Kotoko striker, Stephen Manu (B.A) has expressed his concern about the potential relegation of either Hearts of Oak or Great Olympics, warning that it would be a catastrophic blow to the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

In an interview with Happy Sports, Manu emphasized that the league would “lose its value” if either of the Accra rivals is relegated.

Manu believes that Hearts of Oak, one of the biggest teams in Ghana, is an integral part of the league’s competitiveness and fan base. He emphasized that the relegation of either club would be a significant setback for the league, potentially leading to a decline in its popularity and quality.

“It won’t be good for the Ghana Premier League if Hearts of Oak gets relegated. Hearts is one of the biggest teams in Ghana. We are praying both Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics do not get relegated. If they do, the league is finished,” he emphasized

Both Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics are currently struggling to avoid relegation, with crucial matches on the final day of the season.

Hearts of Oak needs a win against Bechem United, while Great Olympics requires victory over Real Tamale United to secure their top-flight status.

The GPL season concludes next weekend, with both teams facing a make-or-break scenario.
