Southampton Manager Russell Martin expresses concern over the injury to Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. The promising talent featured for the Saints in Wednesday night’s match against Bristol City but had to be substituted by Che Adams in the 35th minute due to an injury setback.
In a post-match interview, Martin revealed his apprehension about Sulemana’s condition and mentioned that a scan is scheduled for tomorrow. Despite the setback, the manager remains optimistic, stating that the initial assessment suggests the injury isn’t severe, and he hopes to see Sulemana back on the field soon.
“It’s a bit of a worry. We’ll get it scanned and keep our fingers crossed it’s not too bad, but it’s the big disappointment of the evening. Al just picked up a little strain, and we hope to have him back very quickly,” Russell Martin remarked.
The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Ghana, especially considering the imminent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, adding a layer of concern for Sulemana’s availability in the upcoming competition.
