Accra Lions’ head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, expressed his disappointment following his team’s defeat to Asante Kotoko on Monday evening.
The capital-based club hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium for a round 4 encounter in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Asante Kotoko managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory with a goal in added time of the second half.
In a post-match interview, Coach Ibrahim Tanko described the result as painful, attributing the loss to a lack of concentration. He believed that a draw would have been a more appropriate outcome considering the performance of both teams.
He stated, “It’s a very painful defeat. I mean lack of concentration. I think a draw could have been a better or a fair result based on how the two teams played but this is football, one lack of concentration cause you three points. It’s painful,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said.
Accra Lions’ next match in the Ghana Premier League will see them facing Great Olympic in Round 5.
