Prosper Ogum, the coach of Asante Kotoko, expressed his pride in his team’s back-to-back victories over Hearts of Oak this season.
In the final Super Clash of the season, Asante Kotoko secured a convincing 2-0 win against their bitter rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Steven Mukwala’s brace sealed the victory for the Porcupines in the Ghana Premier League Matchweek 31 encounter.
This achievement marks the first time since 1987 that Kotoko has completed a double over Hearts of Oak.
Speaking after the game, Prosper Ogum couldn’t contain his joy: “I’m very happy. Beating Hearts of Oak back-to-back is not an easy job so I am happy. I think it’s an honor for this group of players, it’s been a while I think this happened, I am not very sure of when this actually happened but it’s been a while so we are all happy and you could see when the final whistle was blown and I think Steve made it beautiful,” he told StarTimes.
Asante Kotoko currently occupies the 9th position with 43 points from 31 games and will face Great Olympics in their next home game in matchweek 32 fixture.
