Defender, Caleb Amankwah has bid farewell to his former club Hearts of Oak as he completes his transfer to Ethiopian Premier League outfit, Commercial Bank FC.
The 25-year-old has made a move to the newly-promoted team on a free transfer following his departure from Hearts of Oak.
Amankwah’s exit from the Phobians comes after the club was unable to meet the player’s contract demands, which arose at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
In a message to the Hearts of Oak family, he stated, “Dear @HeartsOfOakGH family! It’s an unforgettable chapter in my life, ever since I join this beautiful club you have always show me love and support! Thanks to yu all. Forever in my heart” “Always play for the name on the badge and they will remember yu with the name”, he wrote on Twitter.
Having initially joined from Aduana Stars in March 2021, the versatile player contributed to Hearts of Oak’s Ghana Premier League campaign with 63 appearances.
Commercial Bank FC secured their return to the Ethiopian Premier League after clinching victory in the 2022-23 second-tier league.
Following six seasons in the lower tier of Ethiopian club football, Commercial Bank’s triumph marks their comeback to the top-flight competition.
