Ghanaian giant Accra Hearts of Oak SC defender Samuel Inkoom has idolized Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan following his official retirement on Tuesday evening.
The former FC Basel player stated how honoured he feels to have played alongside the all time Ghana top scorer and Africa’s top scorer in the history of the FIFA Mundial.
According to Inkoom, Asamoah Gyan’s love and dedication for Ghana is unquestionable after playing at nine different major tournaments for the Black Stars.
He sent a heartwarming message to the Black Stars former captain as he believes Gyan has left an indelible mark in the history of Ghana Football.
“It’s been an honour playing with this great man– a legend that many across the world have come to love.
“His love and dedication for Country is one that no one can dispute! He truly has left an indelible mark in the history of Ghana Football. Much Respect”, he tweeted.
Inkoom played with Asamoah Gyan at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Angola where Ghana came second after losing the final against the Pharoahs of Egypt.
He also shared the pitch with Ghana’s all time top scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances at the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa where Ghana had the chance to be the first African country to reach the semi-final but for Gyan’s last minute penalty miss against Uruguay.
