Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz has called for sacrifice, belief and hard work as Ghana steps up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The experienced coach shared a series of motivational messages through the Ghana Football Association’s “Beyond The Whistle” campaign ahead of the tournament.
Queiroz stressed that success at the World Cup level demands more than just ambition.
“It’s easy to dream about winning the World Cup. The hard part is sacrificing enough to achieve it,” he said.
The Portuguese tactician also reflected on the pressure and expectations that come with representing a country on football’s biggest stage.
“At the World Cup, players, coaches, and fans all carry the same expectation: success,” Queiroz stated.
The former Portugal and Real Madrid coach insisted every nation arrives at the tournament with the same objective, but only the most prepared teams can succeed.
“Everybody wants to win the World Cup. The difference is who is ready to pay the price for it,” he added.
Queiroz further highlighted the common ambition shared by every team at the tournament.
“Every nation at the World Cup shares one dream – to win and succeed.”
Ghana have already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup and have been drawn alongside Panama, England and Croatia in the group stage.
The Black Stars are expected to continue preparations with upcoming international friendlies against Mexico and Wales before the tournament begins.
Queiroz has already submitted his provisional 55-man squad list and is expected to reduce it to the final 26-man squad on June 1.
