German-born Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer has described his move to Swiss giants BSC Young Boys as the best option for his career in the summer transfer window.
The lanky centre-back completed a season-long loan to join the Swiss champions on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, following struggles for consistent game time in the Bundesliga with FC Augsburg.
Pfeiffer, who recently completed his nationality switch to play for Ghana, believes the loan move will aid his football development.
“Following an open and constructive dialogue with those in charge, I’m convinced that this is the best option to continue my development. It’s a great opportunity to gather important minutes for a strong team like Young Boys,” he said.
“I’m also excited to be able to take part in a European competition and experience playing abroad, in order to return to Augsburg even stronger next season,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pfeiffer’s contract with the German topflight side runs till the summer of 2027.
