Ghanaian defender Jeffrey Schlupp was in action for Celtic on Wednesday night as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
Schlupp started the match on the bench and was introduced in the 65th minute, replacing Greg Taylor. His presence added stability to Celtic’s play, contributing to their effort to stage a comeback.
Celtic managed to pull a goal back in the 79th minute when Daizen Maeda found the net after a well-placed assist from Hyun-Jun Yang.
However, the Scottish side could not overturn Bayern’s lead, as Michael Olise and Harry Kane had already put the German giants ahead with goals in the 45th and 49th minutes, respectively.
With this result, Schlupp and his Celtic teammates now face a tough challenge in the second leg in Germany, where they will need a strong performance to keep their hopes of advancing in the Champions League alive.
