Newly appointed Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed his desire to leave a lasting mark in his role as he takes charge of Ghana’s sports sector.
Adams, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency, was officially sworn in last Friday at the Jubilee House, succeeding Mustapha Ussif, who served from 2021 to 2024 under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Adams emphasized his commitment to making meaningful contributions rather than comparing his tenure to previous administrations.
“I hope my leadership style will help achieve great things as Sports Minister,” he stated. “I don’t want to comment on the performance of my predecessors, but I have my own approach to ensuring progress in the sector. The public will be the judge of my work when I leave office.”
Meanwhile, President John Mahama has tasked Adams with spearheading efforts to revive the country’s struggling sports sector and restore its former glory.
