Jeremie Frimpong played a pivotal role in Bayer Leverkusen’s commanding 5-1 victory over SV Darmstadt 98 in the German Bundesliga on a Saturday afternoon.
The Dutch-born Ghanaian defender showcased his skill with two assists at the BayArena.
In the 21st minute, a Darmstadt corner allowed Bayer 04 to launch a counterattack, with Jeremie Frimpong sending Boniface surging forward from his own half. The Nigerian striker advanced into the penalty area on the inside right and delicately chipped the ball over the goalkeeper.
Although the visitors swiftly responded with a goal from Oscar Vilhelmsson, the home team wasted little time in regaining their lead. Just four minutes after the restart, Jeremie Frimpong advanced into the box along the right wing and provided a pass to Palacios, whose shot deflected past goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen.
Florian Wirtz then set up Boniface for his second goal of the match in the 61st minute, further extending Bayer Leverkusen’s advantage.
Jonas Hofmann added a fourth goal in the 67th minute, expertly finishing into the far corner after receiving a pass from Boniface.
Adam Hlozek completed the scoring with the fifth and final goal in the 83rd minute.
