Ghanaian striker Joel Fameyeh opened his goal account for Puskas Academy with a dramatic late equalizer in their 2-2 draw against Paksi FC on Saturday afternoon in the Hungarian NB Liga.
The match, held at the Fehervar Stadium, saw Puskas Academy fight back twice to secure a crucial point and maintain their position at the top of the league table.
Paksi took the lead in the 21st minute when veteran forward Daniel Bode confidently slotted home a penalty.
However, the visitors responded just 11 minutes later as Hungarian international Zsolt Nagy leveled the scoreline with a solid finish in the 32nd minute.
The game saw more drama in the second half. Zsolt Nagy had a chance to put Puskas ahead from the spot, but he failed to convert the penalty. Moments later, the hosts capitalized on the miss when defender Barna Toth restored Paksi’s lead in the 73rd minute.
Joel Fameyeh entered the game after the hour mark, replacing Gambian attacker Lamin Colley. The Ghanaian made an immediate impact, scoring just two minutes into added time to rescue a point for the league leaders.
This marked Fameyeh’s first goal in six appearances for Puskas Academy since his arrival during the winter transfer window.
With the draw, Puskas continue their push for a historic first league title, remaining at the top of the standings with close competition from reigning champions Ferencvaros and Paksi FC.
