Ghanaian striker Joel Fameyeh scored his debut goal for Puskás Akadémia on Saturday afternoon, rescuing a vital point in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Paksi FC in the Hungarian NB I at the Fehérvár Stadium.
Fameyeh came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact, striking in stoppage time to ensure Puskás maintained their position at the top of the league table.
The hosts took the lead in the 21st minute when veteran forward Dániel Böde converted a penalty. However, Puskás equalized in the 32nd minute through Hungarian international defender Zsolt Nagy.
The drama continued after the break, with Nagy missing a penalty before Barna Tóth restored Paksi’s lead in the 73rd minute. Fameyeh was introduced shortly after the hour mark, replacing Gambian forward Lamin Colley.
In the dying moments of the game, the Ghanaian striker stepped up and found the back of the net two minutes into added time to level the score at 2-2. It was Fameyeh’s first goal in six appearances since joining the club during the winter transfer window.
Puskás Akadémia remain in a tight title race, holding onto first place ahead of defending champions Ferencvárosi TC and fellow contenders Paksi FC as the season nears its climax.
