Ghanaian forward Joel Fameyeh was on the scoresheet for Rubin Kazan in their first Russian Premier League game following their return to the top flight.
The striker was named in the starting lineup as Rubin Kazan faced Lokomotiv Moscow in the first game of the season.
The Ghanaian scored what could have been a winner for his side late in the game but Moscow scored in the dying embers of the game for the game to end in a 2-2 stalemate.
The away team opened the scoring after just three minutes played before Nair Tiknizyan equalised for Moscow to take the 1-1 into the break.
However, Famaeye restored Kazan’s lead shortly after the break and looked to win the encounter for them.
But with three minutes until full-time, Moscow drew level again with the Ghanaian going off a minute later.
Fameye will feel delighted after scoring his first goal of the season but will also seek to play an important role for his side in subsequent games like he did against Moscow.
