The Black Galaxies secured a 4-2 victory against Kotoku Shining Stars, a Division Two side based in Greater Accra, during a friendly match held at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram on a Wednesday morning.
Ghana’s goals came from Medeama’s Jonathan Sowah, who netted twice, and Richmond Lamptey and Abednego Tetteh, who each scored one goal. The friendly game featured more than twenty players from the Black Galaxies team, including Caleb Amankwah, Ali Huzaif, Manaf Umar, Gabriel Bonnah, Seidu Dauda Yussif, Felix Kyei, Augustine Agyapong, and Emmanuel Siaw, among others.
Coach Didi Dramani organized this friendly encounter as part of his strategy to assess the team’s strength and build a strong local side. The team currently has twenty-seven players at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence after conducting an initial screening involving over ninety-seven players from first and second-tier clubs.
In the upcoming days, the squad for the second batch of the second phase of the screening exercise will be announced. The main purpose of this exercise is to establish a comprehensive player database for continuous monitoring. It aims to facilitate player export or urgent replacements for the Black Stars, focusing on domestic talents and those in close proximity.
