Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew opened the scoring with a superb finish for Leicester City in their Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night.
Ayew capitalized on Stephy Mavididi’s precise assist in the sixth minute to give Leicester a surprise lead. However, Liverpool mounted a strong comeback, equalizing through Cody Gakpo before halftime.
The Reds took control in the second half, with Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah adding goals to secure a 3-1 victory. Salah’s strike marked his 100th Premier League goal at Anfield. Leicester’s loss leaves them in the relegation zone, while Liverpool extended their lead in the title race.
Ayew’s goal brings his tally to five goals and one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions this season. Despite his efforts, Leicester remains in a precarious position on the league table.
