Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil was named Man-Of-The-Match in Genk’s win over KAS Eupen at home on Saturday evening in the 2022-23 season.
The Ghanaian put up a stellar performance for the Blue and Whites outfit as they thrashed their opponents 4-2.
Paintsil was a thorn in the flesh of the opposition defenders as he tormented their full-back with his pace and dribbling abilities in a one-on-one situations.
After his brace and a brilliant performance to match, the Ghana International was deservedly awarded the Most Valuable Player award after the game.
Paintsil broke the deadlock of the game to put the hosts 1-0 up early in the game after just three minutes from a very difficult angle from the right side of the box into the bottom left corner.
Six minutes later, Paintsil was celebrating his second goal of the match as his right-footed shot from the center of the box went straight into the center of the goal post to make it 2-0 to the home team.
The visitors scored a consolation after 32 minutes but the hosts restored their two goals advantage before the first half break with Smail Prevljak scoring for Eupen before Patrik Hrosovsky made it 3-1.
Regan Charles-Cook scored early in the second half of the match to make it 3-2 and the visitors started believing again but Mike Tresor made sure Genk took all three points with a late goal to make the final score 4-2.
The 24-year-old Ghana International has two goals and one assist in three matches this season in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League for Genk.
