Acheampong first joined the Blues in their development centre programme as an Under-8 and has progressed through the youth ranks at Cobham and has the capabilities to play in multiple positions across the back line. On 2 May 2024, three days shy of his 18th birthday, Acheampong made his debut appearance in the Premier League, as well as his Chelsea men’s senior team debut, coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute for Alfe Gilchrist of a 2–0 Chelsea victory at Stamford Bridge over their London derby rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
