Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has shared his excitement following the contract extension of the team’s vice-captain, Justice Blay.
The influential midfielder has signed a new one-and-a-half-year deal, ensuring his stay with the Porcupine Warriors until 2026.
Blay’s renewal has been widely celebrated, with Coach Ogum highlighting the significance of his presence in the squad. “Justice brings so much to the team both on and off the pitch. His extension is great news for all of us,” Ogum remarked.
The new deal reflects Blay’s dedication to the club and his determination to contribute to Kotoko’s long-term success. Known for his leadership, passion, and dominant performances in midfield, Blay has become a key figure within the team, earning immense respect from fans and teammates alike.
Blay’s journey with Kotoko began during the 2019/2020 season when he joined on loan from Medeama SC. He made an immediate impression, scoring twice in 12 appearances. His outstanding performances led to a permanent move in the 2021/2022 season, where he has since solidified his role, amassing 56 league appearances.
This season, the energetic midfielder has featured in 12 of Kotoko’s 15 Ghana Premier League matches, finding the net once. His consistency and commitment continue to make him an invaluable asset to the team.
