KAA Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu has been named in the Black Stars final squad for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament which starts on November 20.
The 25-year-old has been chosen ahead of In-form Crystal Palace FC midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp by Otto Addo and his technical team for the upcoming 2022 FIFA Mundial.
He has made eight appearances in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League this season out of 17 games for the Blue and Whites outfit.
Owusu is selected over long term serving midfielder Mubarak Wakaso who also plys his trade in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League with KAS Eupen.
He was part of the Ghana team that defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoffs to make it to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
