Guinean international Mohamed Camara, the first-choice goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko, has reportedly attracted strong interest from South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, according to reports from Africa Foot.
Despite already boasting four goalkeepers — Brandon Peterson, Bruce Bvuma, Fiacre Ntwari, and Karabo Molefe — the Soweto giants are said to be keen on strengthening their goalkeeping department, with Camara emerging as a priority target.
The 25-year-old, who is under contract with Kotoko until June 2026, has also been linked with several other African clubs. Chiefs and Kotoko are believed to be in ongoing talks over a possible deal, though no agreement has yet been reached.
Camara himself reportedly acknowledged Chiefs’ interest, confirming that he had directed the South African club to engage directly with Kotoko’s management regarding any transfer negotiations.
The Guinean shot-stopper rose to prominence during the 2025 Toyota Cup, where he produced a heroic display by saving three penalties to inspire Kotoko to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Glamour Boys. That performance is said to have further heightened Chiefs’ pursuit of his signature.
For now, it remains uncertain whether the highly-rated goalkeeper will make the switch to the DStv Premiership this season, as neither club has officially commented on the reports.
