Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Sowah has completed a move to Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda.
The 25-year-old, who previously played for Leicester City, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Dutch side during the winter transfer window.
Sowah makes his return to the Eredivisie after a previous loan spell at AZ Alkmaar while contracted to Belgian giants Club Brugge. He recently parted ways with the former Belgian champions and joins NAC Breda as a free agent.
Technical Director Peter Maas expressed his excitement about the signing, highlighting Sowah’s versatility and work ethic.
“Kamal has a dynamic attacking profile and can play in multiple positions. He is also strong in his defensive work and fits in well with this NAC with his aggressive style,” Maas stated.
He also acknowledged the player’s fitness level while emphasizing the club’s long-term vision.
“Kamal is indeed quite fit, but because he has not played for a while, he will first receive extra training. The focus at NAC this season is absolutely on maintaining his position in the Eredivisie, but with Kamal’s arrival we are also already selecting for next season.”
Sowah, a Right to Dream Academy graduate, reunites with his former manager Carl Hoefkens, whom he previously worked with at OH Leuven and Club Brugge.
