Southampton Manager Russell Martin has doubts over three players but believes his squad is in good shape heading into Saturday’s Premier League opener at Newcastle.
Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is still recovering from an injury picked up in pre-season, while Adam Lallana is getting closer to making his first Saints appearance since returning to the club.
According to him, “Kamaldeen is nearly fit, Ross Stewart is nearly back in contention, Adam Lallana is nearly back, so they’re in a really good place,” Martin said of his squad, who will travel to Newcastle on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ross Stewart , the a manger says “nearly back in contention” according to his manager, while everyone else is fit to feature.
Sulemana netted a brace in his side’s final Premier League game against Liverpool last season and hopes to commence the new 2024/25 season with an electrifying form.
