Abukari Damba, the head coach of Karela United, had words of praise for Asante Kotoko despite his team emerging victorious in their recent encounter.
Giyasu Ibrahim’s solitary goal secured a 1-0 win for Karela United over the Porcupine Warriors in a Ghana Premier League week 20 fixture.
Speaking after the game, Damba acknowledged the quality displayed by Kotoko, describing them as a formidable opponent.
He emphasized the resilience and effort shown by his players, highlighting their determination to secure the win. Damba likened Kotoko’s performance to the “last kicks of a dying horse,” emphasizing their strong display despite the defeat.
“I did indicate to you that the last kicks of a dying horse are very powerful. I think my players of course did demonstrate that, we worked hard towards this but I must also say Kotoko…they are very very good side.
“They distinguished themselves very creditably just that we did the needful by scoring the goal.”
The victory marked a significant moment for Karela United, especially as it was only their second game at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu, following their relocation at the start of the second round.
