Hearts of Oak centre-back Kelvin Osei Asibey is enjoying an outstanding run in the Ghana Premier League after winning the NASCO Man of the Match award in three consecutive games.
The defender has played a key role in Hearts of Oak’s recent victories, helping the Phobians secure three straight wins without conceding a goal.
Asibey’s impressive run began with Hearts of Oak’s narrow 1-0 victory over Port City, where his performance earned him the first of the three individual awards.
He continued his excellent form in the club’s away encounter against Vision FC, helping Hearts secure another 1-0 win. The result highlighted the team’s defensive organisation, with Asibey once again standing out to claim the NASCO Man of the Match award.
The centre-back completed his remarkable sequence in Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars. He delivered another influential performance to help his side maintain its clean-sheet record and secure his third consecutive individual honour.
Three matches, three victories, three clean sheets and three NASCO Man of the Match awards — a remarkable sequence that underlines Asibey’s importance to the Hearts of Oak defence.
His performances have contributed significantly to the team’s ability to grind out narrow victories, with the Phobians showing defensive discipline in matches where a single goal has proved enough to secure maximum points.
For a centre-back, consistency, concentration and the ability to help organise the defence are crucial, and Asibey’s recent displays have placed him firmly in the spotlight.
The defender will now be hoping to maintain his impressive form as Hearts of Oak continue their Ghana Premier League campaign, with his contributions likely to remain important to the club’s ambitions.
