Italian-Ghanaian striker Kelvin Yeboah was on the scoresheet once again as Minnesota United secured a commanding 4-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer.
Yeboah, the nephew of Ghanaian football legend Anthony Yeboah, netted his seventh goal of the season with a powerful header in the 42nd minute, finishing off a fine cross from Tanitoluwa Oluwaseyi. The goal doubled Minnesota’s lead after Oluwaseyi had opened the scoring just two minutes into the game.
Anthony Markanich made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time, putting the home side in firm control before San Jose managed a consolation goal through Bruno Wilson after the break. Joseph Rosales sealed the win with a late strike, restoring Minnesota’s three-goal cushion.
The result sees Minnesota United climb to second place in the Western Conference standings, just two points behind leaders San Diego FC, leapfrogging Vancouver Whitecaps in the process.
Yeboah, who joined the club in 2024, has quickly become a key figure in the squad and continues to impress with his consistent performances and goal-scoring form.
