Head coach of Division One League side King Faisal FC, Barnabas Awuni says his outfit is well prepared for the upcoming 2024/25 league season as he targets a quick return to the Ghana Premier league.
The country’s lower-tier competition will commence coming weekend across all zones in Ghana.
King Faisal FC will kick-start their campaign with a journey to the Western Region to face Nzema Kotoko FC. With a heavy load on the team last season, after finishing 8th on the log head coach Barnabas Awuni is confident of turning the fortunes of the side for the better this season.
Awuni disclosed that, the Insha Allah Boys deserve to play in the topflight and not lower-tier, hence needs to work extra hard to get back to where it belongs.
“The team is in good shape for the season after making some additions. With some friendly games played, I can say the level of the players are up to the standard awaiting start of season”.
“King Faisal is poised for the season, though we don’t want to stretch much because we have to avoid injuries. Looking at the squad depth we have now our prayer is not to have injury concerns in camp”, He told Freelanced Sports Journalist Kolog Bonaventure in an interview.
“And we would get the team to where it belongs thus premier.
“However, without putting pressure on the players we will take it match after match” From Management level, club president and everyone wants to push the club to where it belongs which is Premier league”.
King Faisal FC clash with Nzema Kotoko FC is slated for Sunday September 29, 2024 at the AAK Ampain Sports Arena.
