German-born Ghanaian defender King Samuel Manu has inked his first professional contract with Bundesliga 2 outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf.
The 20-year-old has immediately been loan out to third tier side Hansa Rostock to continue his development.
Manu, who was born in Dusseldorf, started his career with MSV Dusseldorf before joining Fortuna last season.
After an impressive campaign with the club’s reserve team, he was handed a professional deal.
“I am very happy about my new contract and the trust that Fortuna has placed in me. I would like to continue the good development from the previous season and will work hard to achieve this. For me it is now about collecting as many minutes as possible. That is why I am looking forward to my time at Hansa and the new challenge in the 3rd league,” he said.
Manu is expected to return to the club at the end of the season with more experience playing regularly for Rostock
“The signing of King Manu’s contract once again underlines the good work that is being done in our NLZ. We are very pleased that we can currently guarantee a consistently high level of permeability and we will continue consistently down this path in the future. In Rostock, King will have the opportunity to develop further at a good level,” said Sports Director Christian Weber.
