Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has hailed teammate Kobbie Mainoo as the club’s best player following the English-Ghanaian’s outstanding performance in the FA Cup final.
The two teenagers were instrumental in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday, with both scoring crucial goals. Mainoo netted the winning goal at Wembley after a beautifully orchestrated play.
The decisive moment saw Marcus Rashford deliver a long ball to Garnacho, who then found Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes provided a stunning pass to Mainoo, who calmly finished beyond Stefan Ortega.
Speaking to BBC One, Garnacho said, “Incredible. The best player in the squad and he’s the youngest. We’re also good friends. I’m so happy for him.”
He added, “Incredible. Nobody believed in us. But we’re a team, all together. We fought, the game of our lives.”
Mainoo has been a standout player for Manchester United throughout the season, consistently delivering strong performances. His efforts have earned him a spot in England’s provisional squad for the 2024 European Championships.
