Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has praised the strong collaboration between the government and the Black Stars following their dominant back-to-back victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana’s senior national team ended their six-game winless streak in emphatic fashion, thrashing Chad 5-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium before securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Madagascar in their Matchday 5 and 6 fixtures.
Speaking in an interview after the wins, Minister Adams attributed the team’s resurgence to effective leadership from both the government and the technical staff.
“There was strong leadership from the technical team to the playing body and from the government, and the players were made to understand that they are the best, and therefore, they should go out to deliver, and together with the tactics from the technical team, it has helped the team,” he told Asempa FM.
The two victories have propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 15 points, boosting their hopes of securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will regroup in June for a four-nation tournament in England before continuing their qualification campaign against Chad and Mali in Matchday 7 and 8.
