Kofi Adams, Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency, has emphasized that sincerity and integrity are critical to succeeding as the Minister of Sports and Recreation.
Adams, who has been nominated for the position, stressed the importance of approaching the role with a genuine commitment to its responsibilities.
Speaking ahead of his nomination, the 49-year-old lawmaker underscored the value of sincerity in leadership. “If you approach the Sports Ministry with sincerity and a pure heart, you will succeed,” Adams stated in an interview with GHOne TV.
Adams, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a specialization in the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases, also highlighted the need to revive grassroots sports. He called for strategic efforts to ensure such initiatives are successfully implemented. “Let’s return to grassroots sports and implement them effectively,” he added.
The MP is set to appear before the Parliamentary Vetting Committee for approval. If confirmed, he will take over from Mustafa Ussif, who has served as Sports Minister since 2021 under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Adams’ nomination signals a new chapter for the Sports Ministry, with many hopeful that his leadership will drive progress in Ghanaian sports development.
