Nana Yaw Amponsah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, has expressed his thoughts on the two-year tenure of Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama at the club.
According to Amponsah, Gama is the most professional player he has ever had the opportunity to work with.
“I have to say that Fabio Gama is the most professional player I have ever worked with. There was a time when he was frustrated because he wasn’t getting enough game time and was losing his position to Lamptey. Prosper Ogum preferred Lamptey in the No.10 role,” Amponsah revealed during an interview with Wontumi Sports.
“Fabio Game came to me weeping and said he can’t continue to play for the club again,” Nana Yaw Amponsah said in an interview with Wontumi Sports.
Amponsah further shared that Gama approached him in tears, expressing his desire to leave the club due to his limited playing opportunities.
Fabio Dos Santos Gama joined Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s leading Premier League clubs, in 2020 and represented the team for two seasons.
During his time with Asante Kotoko, Gama played a vital role in the squad that clinched the championship title in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
