Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has acknowledged that the opening match of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season against Karela United will be a challenging encounter.
Coach Ogum made this statement during an interview with the media team of the Porcupine Warriors, highlighting the importance of preparing well for the first game of the season.
The coach’s warning comes after Asante Kotoko failed to win any trophy last season, and he believes that a strong start to the season is crucial in achieving success. According to Coach Ogum, the team needs to be very prepared and focused if they are to get the desired result in the opening match.
“We will start the season by going to Tamale and as you said, last season they took four points out of the six so coming season I’m sure it’s going to be a very big game, especially in the first game. We need to be very prepared and make sure that we get there and get the job done,” Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
Asante Kotoko has already strengthened their squad during the off-season, recruiting top players in hopes of competing for all available trophies next season.
With a tough opener ahead, Coach Ogum will be looking for his team to come out strong and set the tone for the rest of the season.
