Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey, has reassured the club’s fans of an upcoming victory against Accra Lions on Monday, October 9, 2023.
The Porcupines have yet to secure a win in their first three matches of the Ghana Premier League. Their most recent game ended in a 1-1 draw against Karela United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Despite Asante Kotoko’s current struggles to secure a win, Richmond Lamptey maintains his optimism that the team will clinch a victory when they face Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium next week.
“As a player for Asante Kotoko, I know a defeat is not a good thing for the club, so the fans should expect a win against Accra Lions”, Lamptey said after the Karela United match.
Having recently returned from injury, Richmond Lamptey acknowledged that the results Asante Kotoko has achieved so far this season have been less than satisfying. Nevertheless, he urged the fans to continue supporting the team.
“We are in difficult moment but I will urge the supporters to keep supporting us and I know we will never disgrace them.”
