Asante Kotoko left-back Patrick Asiedu is turning heads with a standout debut campaign in the Ghana Premier League, emerging as one of the club’s most reliable performers in their bid for the league title.

At just 22 years old, Asiedu has become a key figure in the Porcupine Warriors’ setup, featuring in 23 league matches and showcasing his all-round quality on both ends of the pitch. The energetic defender has already recorded six assists and scored two goals — impressive numbers for a full-back — underlining his growing influence in Kotoko’s attacking transitions.

Asiedu’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed. He has picked up three Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards this season, highlighting his consistency and importance to Kotoko’s title challenge. His overlapping runs, pinpoint crosses, and defensive composure have added a new dimension to Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side.

Beyond his attacking contributions, Asiedu has shown maturity in his defensive duties — tracking back quickly, making key interceptions, and offering solidity on the left flank. His tactical awareness and engine have made him a dependable option throughout the campaign.

With the Black Stars preparing for crucial qualifiers later this year, Asiedu’s consistent form and versatility could make him a valuable addition to the national team setup. His rise this season has not only bolstered Kotoko’s ambitions but also placed him firmly on the radar of Ghana’s technical team.

If he maintains this level, a senior national team call-up may just be around the corner.
