Legend of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Sarfo Gyamfi has appealed to Black Stars coach Otto Addo to consider Hearts of Oak striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in AFCON Qualifiers next month.
The Kotoko legend is pleading for the Stars coach to start or give him(Barnieh) a chance to play for Ghana in the next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic despite playing for his former team’s rivals.
According to him, the Hearts striker is very good and plays like Prince Polley, a former Ghana Star.
He went on to describe Barnieh as a perfect example of the kind of players Ghana needs to be donning the National Team Jersey.
“I will appeal to the Coach (Otto Addo) to use Barnieh. He is a good striker like Prince Polley, who is good at heckling defenders. This kind of players make it easy for midfielders to go forward.”
“Our local players give too much respect to foreign based players in Black Stars. I will advise Barnieh not to feel shy but he should train and play with seriousness to open more doors for other local players.” He told Kumasi based Kessben FM.
