“Kotoko must return to the old module of appointing a single person to run the club” – Kwabena Agyapong

Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most successful football clubs, to revert to its previous management structure of appointing a single person to lead the club.

Agyapong’s statement has sparked a debate among fans and stakeholders of the club, with some supporting his call for a change in management structure, while others believe that the current model is working fine.

Asante Kotoko has been facing internal problems this season, and their performance in the league has been inconsistent. In their match against Accra Great Olympics in week 28, the Porcupine Warriors were beaten 2-0.

“Kotoko must return to the module of appointing a single person to form a management/board to work with.”

“Kotoko’s chairman is the third most powerful person in Ghana after the president and Asantehene”

“Kotoko is a traditional club and I do not subscribe to calls for investors to invest in the club. A board of seven(7) people can contribute at least $1.2mil to the management for recruitment”

Asante Kotoko is currently tied on points with bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in fifth place on the league table.
