Former Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Manu has raised concerns about the club’s preparedness ahead of the commencement of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The Ghanaian domestic top-flight is set to kick off this weekend, with Kotoko scheduled to face Ghana Premier League returnees Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Following a challenging season last term, the Porcupine Warriors are striving to make a significant impact in the upcoming campaign.
In an interview with Kessben FM, the former Kotoko striker expressed doubts about the players’ readiness for the start of the season.
“Asante Kotoko players lack match fitness and they need another month for preseason” he said.
He continued, “The players are not prepared for the upcoming season so if the league can be postponed for the players to prepare very well for the season” he said.
Kotoko recently concluded their preseason preparations with an exciting goalless draw against Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
