Alex Manu, the Ashanti Regional Circles Chairman and supporters’ leader of Asante Kotoko, has called for changes in the club’s technical setup following the resignation of head coach Karim Zito.
Reacting to the development, Alex Manu said, “If Karim Zito has resigned then his former assistant Prince Owusu should also follow him and pave way for Hamza Obeng to take charge against Hearts of Oak.”
According to him, the departure of the head coach should be followed by a clean transition to allow the team regroup properly ahead of the crucial Super Clash. He believes handing temporary responsibility to Hamza Obeng would bring focus and stability as Kotoko prepare to face their arch-rivals.
Coach Karim Zito recently stepped down from his role, sparking discussions among supporters and football followers over who should lead the Porcupine Warriors in the short term.
Asante Kotoko are scheduled to play Hearts of Oak on Sunday, with fans keenly watching how management responds to the growing calls from the supporters’ leadership.
