After suffering relegation last season, both Kumasi Sports Academy and Sea Lions have bounced back to the elite level of women’s football.
KUSA secured their return by excelling in the playoffs of the Northern Zone, while Sea Lions did the same in the Southern Zone during the recently held Regional Women’s Championship playoffs in Kumasi and Kyebi, respectively.
Kumasi Sports Academy finished as runners-up, just behind Techiman-based Fosu Royal Ladies, earning them a spot in the upcoming Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League for the next season. Similarly, Sea Lions secured their promotion by securing the second position in the Southern Zone.
The excitement doesn’t end there as the Southern Zone will also welcome Greater Accra champions Jonina Ladies, who clinched one of the two Premier League slots in their region.
All these promoted teams are set to compete in the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Premier League, which is scheduled to kick off in October.
