Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Baah showcased his talent with a fine goal for Watford, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in their Championship encounter on Wednesday.
QPR made an early statement, with Michael Frey breaking the deadlock in the 5th minute, capitalizing on Kieran Morgan’s set-piece assist to fire home from close range. Jimmy Dunne extended the lead in the 37th minute, heading in a pinpoint cross from Ilias Chair to put the hosts in command before halftime.
Watford responded in the second half, with Baah delivering a moment of magic in the 55th minute. The Ghanaian forward calmly drilled a right-footed shot into the bottom corner after an intelligent setup by Giorgi Chakvetadze, reigniting hopes for the visitors.
However, QPR quickly dashed those hopes just a minute later when Sam Field restored their two-goal advantage. Field connected with Paul Smyth’s precise cross to head past the Watford goalkeeper, sealing the win for the hosts.
Watford, currently 8th in the league, will look to recover when they face Sheffield United on January 4th. QPR, buoyed by the victory, are set to clash with Luton Town on January 6th.
