Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey has labeled Brighton & Hove Albion’s 2-2 stalemate with Aston Villa a fair result but believes his side had the potential to secure victory.
Speaking after the match, the Black Stars defender shared his thoughts on the game’s outcome.
“We would have loved to have nicked it at the end,” Lamptey remarked. “But yeah, we got back in the game on level terms, and maybe it was a fair result.”
Lamptey played a pivotal role in the match, scoring a sensational second-half goal to bring Brighton level. He credited teammate Joao Pedro for the assist, highlighting their teamwork.
“I just arrived on the edge of the box. It was great from Joao to spot me; he slid it to me, it fell nicely, and yeah, I put it in the back of the net,” he explained.
Despite the draw, Lamptey expressed optimism about Brighton’s future, emphasizing the team’s quality and resilience ahead of their next fixtures.
Brighton & Hove Albion will look to bounce back and secure a win when they face Arsenal in their upcoming Premier League clash on January 4.
