Berekum Chelsea head coach Kwaku Danso has expressed confidence that his side can secure a positive result when they travel to face Basake Holy Stars in Matchweek Five of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
The Blues have endured a challenging start to the 2026/27 league campaign, collecting four points from their opening four matches and currently occupying 15th position on the league table.
Danso and his technical team are therefore hoping to guide the club towards an improved performance as they prepare for the difficult away encounter at the AAK II Sports Arena.
Berekum Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Vision FC in their previous league fixture, missing the opportunity to secure all three points despite taking the lead in the second half.
Seidu Abubakar gave Chelsea the advantage in the 58th minute, raising hopes of a victory for the Berekum-based side. However, Ruben Quaye later scored the equaliser for Vision FC, forcing both teams to share the points.
The result extended Chelsea’s difficult run at the beginning of the season, increasing the importance of their upcoming fixture against Basake Holy Stars.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s encounter, Danso indicated that his players had been working hard in training and were determined to produce a positive performance.
The coach expressed optimism about the team’s preparations, stressing that the players were focused on securing a favourable outcome away from home.
He also disclosed that the team planned to travel to Basake on Saturday ahead of the match, allowing the players and technical staff to prepare adequately for the encounter.
Berekum Chelsea will face Basake Holy Stars at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, with the visitors hoping to improve their position on the league table.
For Chelsea, the fixture presents an opportunity to respond to their disappointing start to the campaign and begin building momentum as the season progresses.
Basake Holy Stars, meanwhile, will have the advantage of playing on home soil and will be seeking to make the most of their home fixture.
The encounter is expected to test Chelsea’s ability to manage pressure away from home, particularly as they seek greater consistency in both defence and attack.
With the league campaign still in its early stages, a positive result could provide a timely boost to Danso’s side as they work towards achieving their objectives for the season.
Berekum Chelsea will therefore travel to Basake with the intention of turning their preparations into a strong performance and returning home with valuable points.
