Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has earned a spot in the Ghana Premier League Team of the Week for his stellar performance in Matchweek 17.
Opoku delivered an outstanding display over the weekend, scoring twice to lead the Porcupine Warriors to an emphatic 4-1 victory against Vision FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. His contribution was instrumental in Kotoko’s dominant performance, securing his place in the league’s weekly best XI.
The in-form forward is joined in the attack by Nations FC’s Bi Boris and Bibiani Gold Stars’ Samuel Attah Kumi, who also impressed during their respective matches.
Other standout performers include Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asante, Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay, Berekum Chelsea defender Zackaria Fuseini, and midfielder Isaiah Nyarko, all of whom earned spots in the Team of the Week.
The Week 17 fixtures concluded the first round of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season. However, the league resumes immediately next weekend, as the 18 teams prepare for a seamless transition into the second round of the campaign.
