Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah came off the bench to score a decisive goal in Kerala Blasters FC’s 2-1 victory against East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League.
The match took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, where East Bengal initially took the lead in the 59th minute with a close-range strike from Vishnu Puthiya.
Kerala Blasters quickly responded, equalizing just four minutes later as Noah Sadaoui found the bottom left corner with a well-placed shot. With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Peprah, who had replaced Spanish striker Jesus Jimenez in the 75th minute, made a significant impact.
In the 88th minute, he latched onto a pass from Mohammed Aimen and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
This goal marked Peprah’s first of the 2024/25 season after two appearances. With this hard-fought win, Kerala Blasters FC now looks ahead to their upcoming fixture against Northeast United FC on September 29th, filled with renewed confidence.
