Ghanaian attacking midfielder Kwame Poku played a key role in Peterborough United’s dominant 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic in Round 38 of the English League One season.

The 23-year-old started the match at Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday and lasted 54 minutes before being substituted. Poku made an immediate impact, assisting Sam Hughes’ opening goal in the 38th minute. Peterborough extended their lead before halftime through England international Abraham Odoh.

The home side continued their dominance in the second half, with Malik Mothersille sealing the victory in the 79th minute.

Poku, who has been in fine form this season, now has 10 goals and 6 assists in 20 League One appearances. Across all competitions, he has contributed 19 goals, scoring 10 and providing 9 assists in 23 matches.

Despite the win, Peterborough United remain 15th in the League One standings with 45 points from 37 matches, making promotion to the Championship highly unlikely.
