The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association has disclosed some of the strategies the GFA is using to look for a new head coach for the Black Stars.
Speaking at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi in the meet the press, Prosper Addo talked about the task given to the committee looking to appoint a coach for Ghana.
“The committee working to select the coach will submit their report to the executive council”, revealed Prosper Addo.
A committee has been set up to select a befitting coach for Ghana’s vacant head coach position after Chris Houghton was sacked. The committee has been tasked to select someone who knows very well the African terrain and is also a serial winner.
“As a member of the GFA EXCO, Kwasi Appiah will be part of the deliberations and decision-making before we announce a new coach”, added Prosper Addo.
Many people have been wondering why James Kwasi Appiah, former Black Stars skipper and coach is still an EXCO member. He is the current coach of the Sudan National Team and he lives far away from Ghana.
The General Secretary of the GFA has assured Ghanaians that Kwesi Appiah will be part of the final decision to appoint a new manager for the Black Stars.
Ghana has appointed 5 coaches in the last 5 years. Chris Houghton was the last to be fired after a disastrous AFCON 2023.
The GFA has assured Ghanaians of a new head coach before the end of February.
