Ghanaians have bitterly complained about the interference in the senior national team as people don’t understand why players who are unattached and inactive get the chance at the expense of attached and active ones.
At the “Meet the Press”, the GFA president, Kurt Okraku denied interfering with the job of the past three Ghanaian coaches when quizzed by the press about it.
“I did not interfere with the work of Charles Akonnor, I did not interfere with the work of Otto Addo, neither did I interfere with the work of Chris Houghton”, revealed Kurt Okraku.
People find it difficult to understand Kurt’s revelation as they can give so many instances that show that interference is in the selection of players for the national team.
Interference has become part and parcel of African football as Cameroonians complained bitterly about Samuel Eto’o giving orders to Rigobert Song and the Cameroonian bench regarding who must be selected to start games for the Indomitable Lions during the 2023 AFCON.
Many have pointed fingers at nepotism and interference as some of the main reasons why Ghana have been struggling of late to deliver in major tournaments.
