Lamine Yamal was born in Esplugues de Llobregat, Catalonia, to a Moroccan father and an Equatoguinean mother. He spent his early years in Granollers and Mataró. At seven, his family moved to Barcelona, where he began training at FC Barcelona’s youth academy.
