”Laryea Kingston has the capabilities to coach the Black Stars, he is better than Otto Addo” – Charles Taylor

Former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko winger, Charles Taylor, has lauded Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston, drawing comparisons between him and iconic Ghanaian coaches Emmanuel Afranie and Sam Arday.

Taylor’s remarks suggest that Kingston’s coaching abilities transcend his current role, hinting at a potential elevation to managing Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.

Speaking on Angel TV, Taylor asserted that Kingston’s tactical acumen surpasses that of Otto Addo, the current Black Stars coach. He stopped short of advocating for Addo’s removal but emphasized Kingston’s potential to extract greater performance from the Black Stars squad.

According to Taylor, Kingston’s coaching finesse extends beyond the U-17 level, warranting consideration for a higher-profile role. “Laryea Kingston’s capabilities extend beyond the Under-17 level. If Otto Addo can lead the Black Stars, then Kingston should certainly not be limited to the U-17s. He is deserving of more.

“Kingston is not just in a different class; he embodies football tactics. A coach must be able to command his players to execute his strategies. Under Kingston’s guidance, the Black Stars would likely be netting seven goals per match,” he added.

Taylor also highlighted Kingston’s ability to unify and inspire teams, drawing parallels between him and revered coaches like Afranie and Arday. “Kingston has the potential to transform the Black Stars and elevate their gameplay significantly. Kingston is unique, and I have full confidence in him. He shares the calibre of Afranie and coach Arday, understanding how to unify a team.”

Taylor’s praise for Kingston comes in the wake of the Black Starlets’ impressive 5-1 victory over Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B championship opener. The team’s cohesive gameplay and tactical prowess under Kingston’s leadership have earned him widespread acclaim and reinforced calls for his advancement to a more prominent coaching position within Ghanaian football.
